On Exams, On Work, On Diet and Sleep

Well, another day is done...laundry is finished, dishes are washed, and dog food is thawing in the sink - my life is rife with routine and I'd love nothing more than to shake it up a bit. I'd love to be able to just pack my bags, throw the dog in the truck and disappear for a week or two. Unfortunately, there are bills to pay, mouths to feed, and so far...no win in the lottery (guess I should buy tickets to make it count, huh?).

I'm worrying that I've taken on too much - trying to take a course, working at the group home, and now this new contract with Apache - there are going to be a lot of long days involved, but I need to get the bank account a bit more healthy again - and hence, I need to pay the price - if it only takes a month, that would be good - then I can focus on getting some cash socked away for something really nice. If I survive.

The midterm is tomorrow - I think I'll do it first thing, then go for my blood test for the bone marrow registry, then come home for a bit, let Aramis out and then head to Cochrane. Tuesday will be a rest day, then double the workload on Wednesday (when dad leaves for Vientiane) with some stuff at Apache and Cochrane, same for Thursday, and Friday...I hope I can manage.

Eating today went well: breakfast was two poached eggs on toast, I worked through lunch (oops!) and then had some left over chili and pasta for dinner.

Total calories: 1473 fat: 40% (11% sat, 7% poly, 16% mono), 37% Carbs and 23% protein.

I'm going to soak in the tub...hope everyone had a stellar weekend!!!

Hey Kirsten -

I've been tied up this weekend with having my two brothers in town. We all drove to Edmonton for my Dad's 75th B-day. Now I have to fly off to beautiful downtown Worsley Alberta for a few days (woo hoo). Thanks for posting the photo... your hips show a big improvement for sure. Your program is nicely on track and the great results will continue to come for you. Good luck with work -- hope you manage all that is ahead for you in the busy days to come. But don't sacrifice proper eating when you're busy - I'm watching you :)

Jon
