Well...here we go

Okay, I'm going to try this - we'll see if it works...I've never put a blog together before, so this is all new to me.

First off, I've set this up as a place for general babble, for recording my thoughts and feelings, and generally a way to let friends and family know what's going on in my head from time to time. I've been looking for a way to lose weight and keep myself in check with regard to my goals and my commitments to keep me on track.

Anyone can post comments here, I've left that totally open - it may not always be about just the weight, but also other stuff that's going on in my life - so be warned!!

Okay...without further ado - commitment #1 will be to reduce the amount of fat that I'm eating. I will try to increase the good fats and reduce the bad fats that I'm eating for two weeks.

The overall goal is to be eating better and to see the changes by the time Triathlon season starts next year. The plan - make a change every two weeks and try to commit to it for the duration of the two weeks before I start adding more changes. The hopes in this case are to make the changes almost unnoticeable and to make it so that I get time to get used to one change before making others.

It sounds like I'll have a huge support group behind me...so no excuses for sabotage or failure here. Thanks everyone and feel free to post whatever, whenever!!!

This is Andrea - I am Kirstens nutritionist. I think it is great that she has such a supportive team behind her! We will be setting goals together for a sensible plan for nutrition. Positive comments/encouragement, friendly tips, and accountability will be very key for her. Thanks!
